Ratifies the Protocol to Implement the Seventh Package of Commitments on Air Transport Services under the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Services (AFAS).
This protocol contains Indonesia’s commitments to open up and liberalise specific air transport service subsectors within ASEAN, including aircraft repair and maintenance, selling and marketing air transport services, computer reservation system services, aircraft leasing without crew, airfreight forwarding, and aircraft catering.
Relevance to AIPA Resolution on Improving Institutional Capacity to Promote Transport Connectivity in the ASEAN Region: Point 2, 3,4, and 5.
The ratification of this protocol increases the competitiveness of Indonesia’s aviation industry, opens opportunities for investment and employment, and demonstrates Indonesia’s commitment to ASEAN economic integration and the development of a seamless regional air transport market.
